Juan Gabriel will certainly be one of those timeless talents, whose lyrics and music appealed to a range of identities. His songs were the soundtrack to aching hearts, suffering women, and closeted folks for nearly 45 years, and gave them solace and comfort when few others would. Gabriel response? The joy that one felt when he began to record is incredible It was a new style that quickly developed as part of the music of Mexican Americans, who were winning the fight for their civil rights, so it was our music.

He loved the border as I love the border, understood the border as I understand the border, lived the people of the border as I live the people of the border. Let others worry about their own lives, and let the rest of us live.
