The drag shows on Tuesdays are also worth your while. Whether you're looking for a lively night out with friends or a cozy spot to unwind, Berlin's gay bars provide the perfect backdrop for unforgettable experiences. Arrive early for the new talent showcase (always a treat) and stay for the seasoned performers later.

Tucked away in a busy post-industrial complex in Friedrichshain, Zum Schmutzigen Hobby is both bar and club in one.

The streets of Schöneberg are lined with exclusive restaurants, high-end shops, and upscale cafes, making it a delightful place to spend a lazy afternoon. The crowd has swelled in recent years, with students, artists and hipsters now in the know, but the infamous Thursday nights are still a blast.

Hotfoot it to one of Berlin’s most notorious cruising bars for a heady taste of the city’s queer scene.

Berlin is a city that pulses with energy and creativity, and its vibrant LGBTQ+ scene is a testament to that spirit. Located on the ground floor of the iconic Berghain nightclub, LAB.ORATORY is a must-visit for fetishists and fans of rubber, leather, and sportswear. Over time, this has lent itself to a ton of fantastic club nights, bars and saunas, and new venues are popping up all the time.

Berlin is a city that is always moving forward, often at a lightning pace.

There are plenty of private booths for shyer songbirds, but the real magic happens in the main room. Pop into one of the rotating exhibitions on gay, lesbian and trans history, peruse the abundant books and magazines stored upstairs, and then chill out over a quiet coffee or beer.

Opened in 2004 on the border between the Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain districts, Berghain has long been known for its techno and minimal techno music scene.

Our Berlin writer Nathan Ma knows this city like the back of his hand, and has handpicked the best LGBTQ+ spots all over the city for cocktails, dancing and a lot of queer joy. Think again, my friend.

The organization this app provides has taken a huge weight off my shoulders.

Berlin has earned its stripes as one of the great gay capitals of the world, with a huge LGBTQ+ community, one-of-a-kind queer bars and an attitude to life that encourages inhabitants to be whoever they please.

Located under the round- about housing development at Kottbusser Tor, the mixed (but girl-heavy) crowd enjoy nightly drinks and dancing, as well as many one-off rock parties. We gathered all the results in one place and ranked them by how many times they were mentioned so you know you're getting the best of the best.

Make yourself at home while taking in the maximalist décor.

It’s an odd location for a gay bar, wedged among Turkish snack bars in a down-at-heel 1960s housing development, but this unpretentious space has been packed since it opened, mainly with gay and lesbian beer lovers, thanks to the excellent range of brews on offer.

I can’t imagine anyone not loving this app!

Gay Berlin

In the 1920s there weren’t many places where LGBTQ+ folk could expect to live openly and proudly without fear of oppression, but the Berlin of the Weimar Republic was one such place.

With raging parties and a labyrinthine dark room, there’s a reason Ficken 3000 has become a legend among locals looking for a drink, dance and a flamboyant good time. See our Berlin Trip Planner.

Exactly what I needed to plan a trip.

The population of Schöneberg is largely LGBTQ+ so it makes sense that the district would also serve as the unofficial capital of queer culture in Berlin.
